About
Hi, I’m Tracie, and I’m a Crochet-A-Holic. I first realized I had a yarn and hook addiction back in the early months of 2006, when a friend of mine taught me the chain and single crochet stitches. After a couple of periods of trial-and-error, I finally got it right, and I’ve been happily crocheting ever since. I then took it upon myself to learn everything else that I know up to this point. If there’s a pattern I want to do, I do it–sometimes with great success, sometimes with success that could be better. At any rate, crochet has long become a part of who I am. In the evenings, you can usually find me sitting in my favorite chair, crocheting some great new project I found in the latest magazine or book. At times, I even attempt my own patterns, which I can do, just not as well as some who have been crocheting way longer than I have. There’s just something awesome and satisfying about taking a string and a hook and making something great with it.
When I’m not winding yarn around a hook, I like to partake in other crafty venues as well. I enjoy paper crafting, which leads me to making my own cards & stationary. I also like making crochet jewelry. I own a sewing machine, which I dabble around with when the mood hits me. I also enjoy cooking, especially baking. I have a major sweet tooth, which isn’t always a good thing. I also enjoy walks in the park, estate/garage sales, antique shopping, collecting buttons, and collecting butterflies.
I’m the cool mom of one teenage daughter, the significant other of a man who supports my crocheting habits like no one else could, and the “moma” of two dogs, Zoe (a Boston Terrier) and Sam (a lab mix). I’m self-employed, as is my SO, in the business of drawing house plans, of which I do most of the 3-D work.
Crocheter, crafter, poet, mom, significant other, pet owner, yarn addict, writer, reader, baker–all of these things (and more) make up the person that I am–the same person that will be revealed in the pages of this blog. That also makes me a blogger.
So, grab your favorite cup of tea, a hook and some yarn, and sit back & enjoy!
